This Month’s Weekly Reckoning!

This month, I’ve been drawing Monster Trucks driving through ancient Chinese Landscapes, for my upcoming Brush with Peril project.  This is the final scene to draw for this mammoth 250+ page project! And I’ve gotta tell ya, these images were killing me, with so much detail! Here’s a sample (Can you find the monster trucks?):

(After Wen Zhengming (1470–1559), A Graceful Gathering at the Orchid Pavilion (Ming Dynasty 1368-1644), Palace Museum, Beijing:)

(After Shen Zhou, Peach Blossom Study (Ming Dynasty 1427-1509), National Museum of China, Beijing:)

(After Wang Meng, Ge Zhichuan Moving to the Mountains (Yuan Dynasty), The Palace Museum, Beijing:)

And here’s how I make page layouts for this project, by picking the images I want on the page, and figuring out how to place them so they all fit together to include space for the amount of dialogue I plan to have:

Once the layouts are determined, I can make the page from those designs:

Ok, enough blabbing. You’re probably interested to see all the great Patreon features I’ve posted this week (month). Well here are a few items:

For YOU great $2 Patrons (and higher),

PDF! Doris Danger vol. 1, Chapter 9 (six pages)

Also, here are a couple scripts – with some “origin story” info about the creation of Doris Danger’s third volume:

Doris Danger (vol. 3, Chapter 30), 003 – Script

Doris Danger (vol. 3, Chpt. 1), page 007 – Script

In addition, I realized that there were four Dr. DeBunko stories that I thought had been posted, but that had been corrupted and unopenable for who-knows-how-long! So I have restored those to readability, which means it’s a great time to check out the Dr. DeBunko page – eight of his eleven published short stories, as well as a fifteen-page never-before-published one!
