Considering what best friends we are, I feel like I actually haven’t spent that much time with Peter! I commissioned his pin-up from him online, by email, in 2005, before meeting him! Our most lengthy visit was probably the Zoom interview I did with him in 2020.
Back in 2007, my then-one-year-old son and I met Peter briefly at Seattle’s Emerald City Comic-Con. This photo documented that historic first meeting, and we spoke briefly about both being musicians and that was about all the conversation we had.
Shortly after (same year), our paths crossed at Atlanta’s Dragon Con, where Peter was hustling past my table but paused briefly for a photo. We then wound up on an indie comics creators panel together:
In 2010, we were both invited to design trading cards for Rochester Electronics’ electronics safety super hero, Captain Rochester. The company then hosted a thank-you dinner for its card contributors at Comic-Con in San Diego, and I wound up at a table with Peter and his wife, Joanne. I hadn’t planned to go down to Comic-Con that year, but changed my mind so that I could enjoy being a part of this monumental dinner with a bunch of my favorite artists in the industry.
