{"id":12591,"date":"2021-09-23T14:39:38","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T20:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/?p=12591"},"modified":"2021-11-05T11:52:58","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T17:52:58","slug":"brush-with-peril-page-013-drafts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/archives\/12591","title":{"rendered":"Brush with Peril, page 013 &#8211; Drafts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One thing I consistently have trouble with, once I&#8217;ve drawn the appropriated images, is remembering to put masks on them afterwards.\u00a0 In the beginning, I may have imagined having my original art without masks, or maybe being afraid I could ruin the picture with a mask, and deciding to do a separate layer for the masks, that I could adjust the size or coverage. At some point I digitally drew some of the masks onto the characters in Photoshop. For some reason, this page, I decided to draw masks by hand, cut and paste them in Photoshop, and as you can imagine, mis-judge the exact size and angle when I did cut and paste them, so it was a weird choice to try that!<\/p>\n<p>Clearly I planned to re-use the carriers image from the previous page, because he shouts &#8220;Carriers&#8221; in Panel 2, and I left a hole for it to be dropped. I believe I needed the dialogue there for panel one, but after drawing it, realized I hadn&#8217;t designated a spot, so I drew it in Panel 3&#8217;s area in order to cut and paste it into Panel 1, and move it around as needed for the best placement.<\/p>\n<p>Last panel, I once again just drew a picture of Bacon&#8217;s popes without referencing an actual painting, although I\u00a0<em>kind of<\/em> used a mirror image of the actual painting I <em>did<\/em> reference.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12594 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brush_with_Peril-1-13-Drafts-origscan.jpg?resize=612%2C938&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"938\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brush_with_Peril-1-13-Drafts-origscan.jpg?w=612&amp;ssl=1 612w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brush_with_Peril-1-13-Drafts-origscan.jpg?resize=196%2C300&amp;ssl=1 196w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brush_with_Peril-1-13-Drafts-origscan.jpg?resize=300%2C460&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/chriswisniaarts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brush_with_Peril-1-13-Drafts-origscan.jpg?resize=600%2C920&amp;ssl=1 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Below is the first draft of the cleaned and edited page, including the moved text and (re-)insertion of the carriers image.
